More about me:
Oh no, another box to fit myself in? I'm an adjunct professor down at City College, working on my PhD in anthropology. I teach writing, architecture, and urban studies. I am often found talking about ethics, philosophy, mysticism of various ilk, community service, the importance of the local/slow food movements, and the danger of "parallel Beacons." My goal is to meet like minded folk who want to work across the boundaries and barriers to sustain a vibrant, discursive place for all of us to grow. I am particularly interested in co-operative/sustainable business models... but more on that later ;)

DIDGERIDOO WORKSHOP THIS SUNDAY, 3-5 with Phil Jones "Digderidoo Medicine Man"

Hi All!

I am helping Eileen O'Hare to put together a didgeridoo workshop and demonstration this coming sunday, with the terrific Phil Jones, called by Yoga Journal the "Didgeridoo Medicine Man". In addition to being a wonderful guy, and an oustanding musician, Phil is also a great chanter and insightful speaker on topics of the heart and soul. His work with this amazing instrument from his native Australia is part yoga, part kirtan, part meditation, part healing, and always transcendent.

does anyone know someone who can fix a rather delicate antique chair?

it's a bentwood rocker. In fabulous shape, considering I found it on the street in Brooklyn about two years ago... the wicker is pristine, but the frame is splintered, not helped by someone sitting on it inadvertandtly.

HELP! I love the chair.

Can pay or barter... many possibilities...?
(ps: and I'm not bad at carpentry myself... so this isn't a "sure, i can try my hand at that" moment...bentwoods are a special breed, they look like this:

Day-UM! I've only just seen your extremely nice comment about pH balances and acerbicity, Lynne. What perfectly splendid conversations we will have. If these walls could talk, what stories they might tell! Let's meet up soon 'n' often. Hurrah!

Hey Lynne,
thanks for the lovely email! I'd love to hook up over a cup of tea. I'm leaving for Arizona in a little over a week for 10 days, so let's hook up sometime within the next week.

Hi Lynn--did you ever get situated with that press? (and is it letter-set or a print-making press? I forget.) I am wondering if you might consider sharing it with like-minded artists--I took my first-ever printmaking workshop at Barrett last month and am intrigued. Do you do printmaking? Would you consider letting others use it (as rental, or barter) with your over-seeing, of course?
