Heh, you guys are funny... Don't get me wrong, I am not afraid of the skunks or even really bothered by them.... but they do {{{{smell}}}}, this year a lot more than last. I was just wondering if I was imagining it. We are from the city but hey, we…
The skunks in beacon are nothing to worry about. I grew up near mount beacon and like clockwork I would hear raccoons tip over my garbage and leave nice presents for me to clean up. Deer would graze in my backyard and wave hello on my way to element…
Ben, those are very cool birds :-) Truly looks like woody woodpecker ! They are quite shy, you don't see them that often, but they have an incredibly loud call. Saw one once in my backyard, and then over in the trees by the stairs up Mt. Beacon, but…
like philomena said, as long as they seem to be behaving normally (moving quickly, avoiding you at all costs, only going out at night), then skunks are not a problem for anyone. i've run into them at night. you avoid them, and in the few cases i've…

Beacon has always been quite odiferous, if you know what I mean. I have missed many a train because of encounters with a skunk or two coming out of the wooded area on top of the hill above the train station. As you know, in a standoff, one gives way…
Is it me or are there a LOT of skunks roaming the city this year? This is the first week that I have not smelled "Eau de LePew" wafting through my back yard. My husband has had 4 close encounters this year... I wonder if there is reason to contact A…

Thank you Mayor Gold, for the council's thoughtful consideration on this matter. Beacon is NOT Yonkers. We have a legacy of environmental concern and care for our centralized business community to consider. The over riding success of Beacon as a cul…
Ugh. Why in the world would they cut service to Poughkeepsie. It seems that there are more people commuting from up here all the time. I feel like there should be more express trains (Beacon first stop) not less.
